Renewing your residence permit
An asylum permit is temporary at first (5 years). Renew it on time through the IND — start well before the end date. After that you can apply for a permanent (indefinite) permit.

Step by step
- Note the end date on your residence document.
- Submit the renewal online through Mijn IND, well before the end date.
- Pay the fees and provide the requested documents.
- After about 5 years of legal residence: apply for a permanent (indefinite) permit.
